KALABURAGI/BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday will sound the poll bugle in Karnataka from Kalaburagi, the parliamentary segment represented by Mallikarjun M Kharge, Congress leader in the Lok Sabha.
Choosing to drive home a point of taking on the BJP’s strongest opponent from Karnataka, Modi will also launch a few central government schemes, besides interacting with Ayushman Bharat (health insurance scheme) beneficiaries in person and with Bengaluru university students via a video conference.

Ahead of polls, the PM will dedicate a brand new ESIC hospital and medical college in Bengaluru, a super-speciality block of KIMS, Hubballi and the income tax appellate tribunal terminal in Bengaluru.
Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the BPCL depot, which has been moved from Raichur to Kalaburagi. Later, Modi is scheduled to address a public rally at the Nutan Vidyalaya ground in Kalaburagi. Traffic has been banned from 8am to 4pm on several roads in the city, while vehicles coming from Sedam Road can park at the City Ring Road. Vehicles coming from Jevargi Ring Road will be stopped from entering the city.
