Amit Shah to address Bundelkhand party workers on Lok Sabha preparations

Amit Shah to address Bundelkhand party workers on Lok Sabha preparations
BHOPAL: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Dhar, BJP national president Amit Shah will address booth-level workers of Bundelkhand region in Sagar on Thursday to soar up the party’s chances in Lok Sabha polls.
BJP leaders said that Shah's visit is crucial in view of the current political scenario. More than 15,000 workers of Bundelkhand cluster, which comprises four parliamentary constituencies — Sagar, Damoh, Khajuraho and Tikamgarh — will participate in Shah’s interaction.
"Party president Amit Shah's visit, which was postponed on February 10, will now be held on Thursday.
He will address more than 15,000 workers of 8,637 booths of Bundelkhand cluster. The morale of party workers is high after Prime Minister's rally in Dhar and Shah would provide another boost to the party’s LS campaign", leader of opposition Gopal Bhargava told TOI.
Shah also plans to meet party leaders and workers to streamline the poll strategy to retain 26 Lok Sabha seats won by BJP during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. On March 2, Shah had flagged off BJP youth wing’s bike rally to connect with workersat every booth in the state.
After the shock defeat in the recently concluded assembly elections, the BJP leadership has initiated block-level contact programmes. Leaders have been asked to publicise welfare schemes undertaken by the Modi government.
Shah's visit also coincides with the crucial Pratinidhi Sabha of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) where the saffron groups will discuss a strategy for Lok Sabha polls. BJP general secretaries Ramlal and Anil Jain, who held strategy meetings with state unit members on March 3, have asked election committee members to tour key divisions to gather feedback on the party’s shortcomings.
“Shah’s visit will be followed by a series of campaigns in selected regions where he will address different clusters of three to four parliamentary constituencies. During the assembly polls, Shah could not manage to cover parts of Bundelkhand. This time he has planned an extensive tour after the formal launch of poll campaign from Sagar,” said BJP state spokesman Rajneesh Agrawal.
