PATNA: The railways introduced the new weekly Antyodaya Express (15551/15552) between Varanasi and Darbhanga on Wednesday. It will, however, run on a regular basis via the Muzaffarpur-Hajipur-Chhapra route from March 13.
According to East Central Railway’s (ECR) chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the train will leave Darbhanga at 8.55pm every Wednesday and reach Varanasi the next day at 6.45am.
On its return journey, it will leave Varanasi at 9.15am every Thursday and reach Darbhanga the same day at 8.35pm. The train will stop at Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Sonepur and Chhapra stations.
Besides, the railways has extended the run of Barauni-New Delhi Vaishali Express (12553/12554) till Saharsa from Wednesday. The train will have stoppages at Begusarai, Khagaria and Mansi.
“The Sadbhawana Express from Raxaul to Anand Vihar (14007/14008, 14015/14016) and Triveni Link Express from Barwadih to Chopan (14371/14372) will stop at Sri Krishna Nagar station under Lucknow division of the Northern Railway (NR).
Walls of Pataliputra Jn to be adorned with paintings: The railways has decided to adorn the walls of Pataliputra Junction with heritage paintings of the Mauryan and Buddha periods to promote tourism in the state. The project is likely to be completed at a cost of Rs 12 crore in the 2019-2020 fiscal.
Besides, work on the installation of coach indication display boards is going on at the Danapur station. Many elderly passengers, who visited the station to board trains, had complained that they found it difficult to locate the position of coaches on platforms.
