LUCKNOW: A woman and her minor son were murdered by unidentified assailants over a property dispute, while her husband and two other sons were assaulted at Lakshbarbajha village in Sardarganj police station area of Barabanki district.
The miscreants also gouged out the eyes of Kavita (36) and her son Shubham (7) with a sharp-edged weapon after murdering them. Her husband Guruddin (45) and her two other sons Aman (3 months) and Siddhant (3) are recuperating at Balrampur hospital in Lucknow.

The police said that the murder seems to have been a fallout of a property dispute. Six persons have been detained and their interrogation is under way.
Superintendent of police (Barabanki) Satish Kumar said preliminary investigations revealed that Guruddin sold a property worth Rs 10 lakh in the first week of February, which might have been the cause of the attack. The police said Guruddin was a farmer and the property belonged to his first wife.
Kumar said at around 9pm on Thursday, six men came to Guruddin’s house and had a drinking session. Later, a brawl took place between them. When the miscreants hit Guruddin, Kavita rushed to the spot and was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. The accused also attacked the three children in the house. Before leaving, they gouged out eyes of Kavita and Shubham. Hearing their shrieks, neighbours rushed to the spot and informed the police.
The police said Kavita and Shubham were found dead, while others were rushed to the district hospital and later referred to Lucknow. Guruddin is out of danger but is yet to give a statement to the police.
