Bulgarian national Konstantin Ignatov, a leader OneCoin company, which prosecutors say was in fact a pyramid scheme, was arrested in Los Angeles, The Verge reported.

His sister, Ruja Ignatova, who is at large, has been indicted for money laundering, and wire and securities fraud, The Verge said.

OneCoin company which was founded in 2014 was using network marketing by selling a package of services and assuring clients that they are getting cryptocurrency which is being mined by the company.

In 2015 the company started selling “fake coins”. Between 2014 and 2016, OneCoin made roughly $3.7 billion in revenue.
