12 new departments at Munger University

The newly established Munger University will have 12 new departments in different faculties. The teaching and research work in those departments will start from the next academic session.

PATNA: The newly established Munger University will have 12 new departments in different faculties. The teaching and research work in those departments will start from the next academic session.
According to a notification issued by the state education department on Saturday evening, the new departments are school of life sciences, school of chemical sciences, school of physical sciences, school of mathematical sciences, school of computer sciences, school of commerce and management studies, school of humanities, school of social sciences, school of yogic sciences, school of earth and planetary sciences, school of legal studies and school of continuing learning and professional development studies.

Munger University vice-chancellor Ranjit Kumar Verma told this newspaper on Sunday that various innovative courses like family management and soft skill development would be launched under these schools. Emphasis will be given to flexibility and innovation while launching these new courses. Besides, capsule courses, interface teaching and inter-disciplinary classes besides quality research would be the hallmark of academic activities in the university, Verma said.
It may be mentioned here that this university has become the first one in the state to start the 2019 annual BA, BSc and BCom honours part I examinations. The VC asserts that sincere efforts are being made to maintain the academic as well as examination calendar of the university and clear the backlog of university examinations.
The university has initiated necessary steps for executing academic collaboration with several Indian and foreign universities, including South Pacific University, North-Eastern Hill University, Central University of South Bihar and Aryabhatta Knowledge university. Furthermore, steps have already been initiated to appoint as many as 298 guest faculty in different subjects as per the UGC guidelines.
He said students’ attendance in classrooms has increased considerably by the application of social networking and WhatsApp. The university has also entered into an agreement with the post office under its “book now, pay later” scheme with a view to expediting correspondence work and ensuring transparency in official working, Verma added.
