TRS president and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
HYDERABAD: Karimnagar has always been a lucky mascot for TRS president and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. The CM has once again chosen Karimnagar to kick off his Lok Sabha poll campaign by addressing a public meeting there on March 17. He will then follow it up with another meeting in Nizamabad on March 19.
Announcing this at a mock poll held at Telangana Bhavan here on Monday for the March 12 MLC elections, KCR said every MLA should shoulder the responsibility of ensuring victory of party MP candidates.
That KCR holds Karimnagar close to his heart was exemplified when he had launched the ambitious Rythu Bandhu scheme from Karimnagar last year. In fact, his first public meeting christened 'Simha Garjana' in 2001 was in Karimnagar, setting the launchpad for the emergence of TRS in Telangana.
