LUCKNOW: Amid speculations that many sitting
BJP MPs may be denied ticket in the upcoming
Lok Sabha elections, rumblings have begun in the saffron camp.
Party's Unnao MP
Sakshi Maharaj has issued a stern warning to UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey saying that poll results may not be favourable for the party in his constituency if he is denied a ticket.
He also said he would not contest the general election from any other constituency.
Last month, minister of state for telecom Manoj Sinha had said that he was not willing to contest from any seat other than Ghazipur which he had won in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
In his letter dated March 7, Sakshi Maharaj said that he was party's only OBC face in the constituency and denying him a ticket would send a wrong message to the backward community which may ally with the combined opposition essentially the SP-BSP coalition.
Sakshi claimed that he has toiled hard for the past five years to enable BJP in a strong position. He also claimed that being a Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Nirmal Panchayati Akhara he has been able to make his presence felt across all caste liines. He asserted that he would once again win the seat for the BJP by an overwhelming margin.
