Nellore: Nellore district SP Ishwarya Rastagi has flagged off six new crime spot vehicles and water tanker on Wednesday.
The SP said that the crime spot vehicles will be very useful in collecting physical evidence from the scene of offence in case of grave crimes. The vehicles are equipped with ultraviolet light, explosive detection kit, narcotic detection kit, fingerprint equipment, printers and a computer to record the evidence.
He said one vehicle each will be stationed at five police divisions of the district and three staff members are being trained to handle the equipment in each division. The SP said the special forensic cell at Mangalagiri provides guidance and suggestions to the teams. Mr Rastogi also distributed 95 mobiles with GPRS facility to the police manning the highway patrol vehicles. Additional SP, P. Parameswar Reddy, AR DSP Y. Ravindra Reddy were present.
