PATNA: Altogether 55 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have reached the state for pre-poll area domination.
Forces have already been sent to the four parliamentary constituencies – Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jamui – which will go to polls in the first phase on April 11. These four districts are among the 16 Maoist-hit districts in the state.
Aurangabad has been provided with four companies of Border Security Force (BSF), Gaya five companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jamui four companies of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Nawada three companies of central forces.

Six companies of CRPF, seven of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), three of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), four of BSF, 20 of SSB and 15 of Railway Protection Force (RPF) will be deployed across the state for area domination and confidence-building measures. The forces will be withdrawn before elections.
Aurangabad, Gaya, Jamui and Lakhisarai districts in Bihar are among the 30 worst-affected districts in the country in terms of left wing extremism. Lakhisarai, which falls in Munger parliamentary constituency, will go to polls in the fourth phase on April 29.
Patna has been allotted one company each of CRPF, CISF and RPF.
State police headquarters sources said the four districts going to polls in the first phase would get at least 30 CAPF companies for free and fair elections. The administrations of these districts have started invoking Crime Control Act (CCA) against those marked as potential threat for law and order during the polls. Those slapped with CCA will have to report to a police station at least 30-40km away from his or her place of stay, but in the same district.

Aurangabad DM Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal told TOI over the phone the administration has received 21 proposals from the police regarding invocation of CCA.
Gaya DM Abhishek Kumar Singh said CCA has already been invoked against 15 suspects. SSP Rajeev Mishra said altogether 120 people till now are under police scanner in the district.
Nawada DM Kaushal Kumar, on the hand, said he has okayed invocation of CCA against 23 miscreants.
Jamui DM Dharmendra Kumar said he has approved 14 of 17 CCA proposals.
