Patrik Hrosovsky isn’t a name that will mean a lot to many Premier League fans, but he could be heading to England very soon.

The Viktoria Plzen midfielder, 26, has been impressing in the Czech Republic this season, and his performances appear to have sparked interest from West Ham United.

AS reported in January that West Ham wanted Hrosovsky in a £4million deal, but agent Pavel Zika has suggested to Ruik that both Plzen and West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini decided a summer move would be better.

That delay from Pellegrini may give other clubs a chance to swoop in, as Zika claims other clubs are keen – and Newcastle United would be wise to be one of them.

Firstly, Newcastle already have ties to Zika. He’s the agent of Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, another Slovakian international who starred in Czech football, and landing another similar bargain would be a masterstroke.

Newcastle appear to have interest in other players in the Czech Republic too; The Daily Mail clam Jablonec midfielder Michal Travnik and Hrosovsky’s teammate Michael Krmencik are both on the radar too, so it’s feasible Hrosovsky has popped up on their radar too.

Newcastle may also be in the market for another midfielder. Mo Diame’s contract is up this summer, whilst questions linger over Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey’s futures. Adding a youngster wouldn’t make much sense as Sean Longstaff is coming through, but a player like Hrosovsky would fit the bill.

He’s of a good age, has real ability on the ball and has Champions League experience, even scoring against Real Madrid earlier this season.

Hrosovsky could be another Dubravka-like bargain from the Czech game is Newcastle make a move, and West Ham delaying their attempts, there is still time for the Magpies to get involved for a bargain midfielder.
