Tirupati cops trace abducted infant in 24 hours, woman held

TIRUPATI: Tirupati police have recovered the three-month-old baby boy, who was abducted at Tirumala on Sunday, and handed him over to his parents on Monday. SP KKN Anburajan said that the baby, identified as Veeran, was abducted near SV shopping complex around 4 am on Sunday.
His parents, Maa Veeran and Kousalya, who work as hawkers at Tirumala are from Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu.
The parents of the abducted baby lodged a complaint with the Tirumala police who registered a case and launched a search for him. Following the CCTV footage, the police sent their teams to various places across the state and came to know that the suspected woman works at a local restaurant in Tirumala.
The woman who abducted the baby was identified as Tulasi who hailed from Karvetinagaram in Chittoor district. Her husband deserted her after she got an abortion, according to the police.
Based on her mobile location, Tirupati police traced the kidnapper woman and took her into custody and recovered the baby.
