AHMEDABAD: Gurugram based ed-tech startup, NeoStencil, a test preparation platform for Government job exams has entered into a partnership with Kota-based coaching institute Motion Education for IIT JEE and NEET exams. NeoStencil will now also offer IIT-JEE and NEET courses online and live classroom to students, starting from April 2019.
As per the market estimate, the test preparation market in India is estimated to be worth Rs. 85,000 crore ($12bn). Almost 70 million students apply for government jobs and nearly 2.5-3 million for JEE and NEET entrance exams combined every year. As per the rising trend, a good percentage of students are starting their preparation for these competitive exams as earlier as from Class 5th onwards, thus it's expected that the market size of test preparation segment may grow much larger in coming years.

“After a successful three-plus years in the government job test preparation, entering into JEE and NEET was a natural extension for us,” said Kush Beejal, cofounder NeoStencil.

The startup expects to provide comprehensive learning for IIT/NEET exam via online so that the students do not have to leave their regular schools to relocate to Kota or other metro cities.

“This is similar to work-for-home concept adopted in the corporate world, where it allowed employees to work from the comfort of home, thus saving on time, energy, traveling cost and allowing work flexibility,” said Beejal adding further that apart from quality competitive preparation learning, a student also need family support around itself.

“There is no denying the fact that online learning is the future of education. We, therefore, want to be the early adopters in embracing technology for providing top quality IIT-JEE and NEET coaching” said Nitin Vijay (IIT BHU), MD Motion Education.

Kota is one of the popular coaching city in India, has grabbed eyeballs by making an annual turnover of Rs 1500 crore plus.

The All India Ranks (AIR) has been declaring the hub as the top spot to prepare for IIT-JEE and the city is also famous for sharpening the young minds of students who aspire to take National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) and other medical entrance examinations over the years.

With its entry into the IIT/NEET segment, NeoStencil will be competing with the likes of Toppr, Vedantu, Embibe and Unacademy in the online coaching segment.
