Saturday's solidarity rally is for all, free from politics - Mujahid

The 'Peace Solidarity March' to be held in the federal capital this Saturday is a gathering based on the concept of peace and harmony, irrespective of participants' religious backgrounds or political ideologies.

In explaining this, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa called on all participants to be dressed in white and not to display logos of any political party.

Using the symbol of a white dove against the backdrop of a hibiscus, the rally will start in front of the Sogo Shopping Complex in Kuala Lumpur at 7.45am, and make its way to Dataran Merdeka.

Speaking to Bernama and RTM in a special interview at the Parliament House yesterday, Mujahid said he had extended invitations to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, cabinet members and opposition leaders to attend the rally.

The gathering is being organised as a show of solidarity in the wake of last Friday's shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand, by a white supremacist that left 50 Muslims dead.
