Robert Smith has confirmed The Cure have finished recording their new album, which comes after more than a decade.

The Cure have not released an album since releasing "4:13 Dream" in 2008.

The band's upcoming 14th studio album is untitled, and no release date has been announced.

The news was revealed by Smith during an appearance on "The John Maytham Show" on the Cape Town radio station Cape Talk.

"We've enjoyed it and we've just recorded a new album for the first time in 10 years," the principal songwriter and frontman of The Cure said.

The English rock band will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame later this month.

Meanwhile, The Cure are set to perform at a series of shows at the Sydney Opera House in Australia on May 24, 25, 27 and 28.
