When the rescue team had lost hopes of pulling out any more survivors from under the debris of the building that collapsed in Dharwad, Karnataka, on Tuesday afternoon, a youth came out alive on Friday.
Much to the surprise of the rescue team, Sangamesh Ramanagoudar (24) walked to the ambulance on his own. He was rushed to the hospital immediately. He was working as an attender in a party office in the city.
Sangamesh reportedly told the rescue team that two more persons were alive under the debris.
The rescue team, which was reportedly planning to begin excavation, has dropped the idea and resumed its earlier methods to search for survivors.
A couple named Dileep and Sangeeta had been rescued from the site.
According to official sources, the death toll has risen to 13, with another body being recovered on Thursday night.
