Lok Sabha polls 2019: Akhilesh Yadav to replace Mulayam Singh as SP candidate from Azamgarh
NEW DELHI: SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from UP's Azamgarh parliamentary constituency, Samajwadi Party announced on Sunday.
In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Mulayam Singh Yadav had won from Azamgarh seat.

The party also announced the candidature of Azam Khan from Rampur. Dr Nepal Singh from BJP is the incumbent MP from Rampur.

So far, the SP has announced 19 candidates for the general elections.
Samajwadi Party also announced its list of star campaigners for the general elections including Akhilesh Yadav, Ramgopal Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Jaya Bachchan among others.
The SP, which won five seats in the 2014 elections, has announced to contest the 2019 elections in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
The SP will contest on 37, the BSP on 38 and the RLD on three out of the 80 seats in the state.
