NEW DELHI: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is all set to launch its 2019 housing scheme on Monday. On offer are nearly 18,000 flats, including more than 1,200 three-bedroom, two-bedroom and one-bedroom flats in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj.
The land-owning agency's latest housing scheme is also one of its costliest till date with three-bedroom flats being offered in the range of Rs 1.4 crore to Rs 1.7 crore. While two-bedroom flats will cost somewhere between Rs 66 lakh and Rs 1.4 crore, one-bedroom flats are priced in the range of Rs 22.5 lakh to Rs 56.3 lakh.

DDA usually offers flats at the cost price and on a no-profit-no-loss basis, but this time, the flat prices have taken the market value in consideration, particularly in Vasant Kunj, where market rates are relatively higher.

The total number of flats on offer in Vasant Kunj is 1,286. Of this, 336 flats are three-bedroom ones. Most of the flats on offer in the current housing scheme are located in Narela, with the lion's share of flats being one-bedroom ones (8,164) or flats meant for economically weaker sections (6,536).

For the first time, the allotment process will be completely online. "We had both online and manual application process in our previous housing schemes but this time, all transactions would be online," a senior DDA official said.

While applying, applicants will have to pay the application money online, upload latest photograph with scanned signature. All important communication and messages such as demand-cum-allotment letter, conveyance deed, etc, will be sent by DDA on the registered email id and mobile number.

Those planning to apply for a flat in Vasant Kunj can have a look at the sample flats at flat no. 11, 12 and 14 at Block A1, Near E2 Pocket, Behind CNG Station, Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Road. Sample flats for Narela will also be opened for applicants and all details, including the housing brochure, will be uploaded on the DDA's website.

The application process will continue till May 10. DDA has empanelled a large number of banks from where the registration fee can be paid. The registration fee, too, is on the higher side this time, with the maximum registration fee being Rs 2 lakh for two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats. Those applying for one-bedroom LIG flats will have to shell out Rs 1 lakh, while the registration amount for flats for EWS category is kept at Rs 25,000. The registration fee is refunded to applicants who are unsuccessful in the draw of lots, which will be held later.

"The LIG flats being offered in this scheme are newly constructed and are much bigger (minimum size of 40 square metres) than flats in our previous schemes," the official added.
