Coimbatore: Prime minister
Narendra Modi would be visiting Coimbatore for election campaign soon, said BJP candidate for Coimbatore parliamentary constituency, C P Radhakrishnan.
Radhakrishnan, who filed his nomination papers on Monday, said the date of Modi’s visit was yet to be finalised. “The date would be announced later,” he said. Radhakrishnan, a former MP of Coimbatore, told reporters that he will take steps to construct a flyover from Uppilipalayam to Neelambur to decongest Avinashi Road.
"The state government is planning to construct a flyover from Uppilipalayam to SITRA junction. Steps would be taken to extend the flyover till Neelambur. This would help to reduce the traffic congestion that might arise in the next ten years," said Radhakrishnan.
Radhakrishnan was accompanied by BJP state general secretary
Vanathi Srinivasan, BJP district president R Nandakumar and two AIADMK MLAs Amman K Arjunan and PRG Arunkumar when he came to the district collectorate to file the nomination.
