Kakinada: Nagalla Venkata Ramana, 40, was murdered by his second wife's sister and her mother on Monday.
They threw chilly powder in his eyes and then hit him with iron rod after he allegedly attempted to rape a girl from the family, according to police.
Gollaprolu police stated that Venkata Ramana from Srirampuram of U.Kothapalli mandal is residing at Kakinada. He had a live-in relation with N. Vijayakumari of Chendurthi village in Gollaprolu mandal.
He had gone to Chendurthi village on Monday. The police said that Vijayakumari's mother Shantakumari and her sister Sneha Madhuri surrendered before Gollaprolu police claiming that they killed the man as he tried to rape Sneha Madhuri.
To protect from his clutches, the accused committed the crime.
Gollaprolu police registered a case.
