GHAZIABAD: External affairs minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj vouched for Gen (retd)VK Singh's re-election from Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency.
Addresing BJP workers and supporters, Swaraj lauded Singh's efforts as an MP and as junior minister in her ministry.
“Due to his effort in evacuating Indians in strife torn Yemen I call him my ‘sankat mochan’ (trouble shooter)” said Sushma Swaraj, external affairs minister.

“I have not come here to seek votes for any other candidate of the party but for VK Singh who has time and again proved his mettle as my junior minister” added Swaraj.
Soon after Swaraj shifted the focus on Modi government’s achievement in the last five years. “You should vote for BJP after assessing its performance on three parameters- national security, welfare schemes and all round development and I want to say that we have on all these parameters have done a splendid job” said Sushma.
Patting her government’s back on Modi’s government’s firm stand after Pulwama, which led to Balakot air strike carried out by IAF, Sushma said “Balakot air strike was India's military and diplomatic win as we were able to corner Pakistan at every world forum and this was made possible because of strong will of Modi.”

She further said that her government rolled out plethora of schemes which benefited each and every section of society, be it youth, workers, farmers, women and also poor people from upper castes. While highlighting the BJP government’s every achievement, Sushma concluded her address with BJP’s catch line ‘Modi hai toh Mumkin hai.’
She then briefly trained her gun at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, saying that only a son of chaiwala can understand the problems of farmers, workers, students and not Rahul Gandhi, who had affluent upbringing.
Lauding VK Singh who is the MP from Ghaziabad, she said that all round development has taken place in the city during his term.
“There was a time that when I used to take road journey to Delhi via Ghaziabad, I use to get stuck in jam on NH but today it took just 30 minutes to reach the venue via Hindon elevated road, which bears testimony to the fact that lot of development work has taken place in Ghaziabad ” said Swaraj. She then went on to highlight the recently started metro corridor, civil terminal from Hindon IAF base.
“At one point of time I started envying VK Singh for international cricket stadium of 75,000 (capacity) in Ghaziabad while as an MP from Vidisha I could manage just one auditorium of 500 capacity in my constituency” concluded Sushma.
