Uttar Pradesh: Sub-Inspector booked for extorting Rs 65 lakh in Barabanki

LUCKNOW: Lucknow police on late Sunday night detained a sub-inspector in Barabanki district who was deployed there as cyber-cell in-charge for extorting Rs 65 lakh from three businessmen.
Yadav was probing the case of those three businessmen who were accused of running fake a 'Ponzi schemes'.
"Yadav extorted Rs 65 lakh from them to close the case. However, even after payment of the amount no relief in the case was given to the accused businessmen," said Hazratganj Kotwali SHO Radha Raman Singh.

One of the accused businessmen approached UP DGP. The DGP directed the STF to conduct a probe in which Yadav was found guilty. Later, ADG (Lucknow Zone) was directed to lodge a case against the sub-inspector.
On Saturday mid-night a case was lodged against Yadav at Hazratganj Kotwali in Lucknow following which he was detained on Sunday.
SHO Hazratganj also said that Yadav was being questioned by the police.
