Andhra Pradesh: CM is responsible for derailment of development in Guntur, says Modugula

GUNTUR: Lashing out at the state government, YSRCP Lok Sabha candidate Modugula Venugopala Reddy has said that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is solely responsible for the derailment of development in Guntur city.
He said that Naidu had shuffled the municipal commissioners frequently and made nine commissioners to work in a span of just five years. He alleged that the chief minister had not allowed him to organize 150 years celebrations of Guntur municipality as he was not willing to grant the big-ticket projects moved by him.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Modugula said that TDP had always adopted double-standards even while clearing the developmental works. “They have blocked 150 years of celebration of GMC but allowed holding 100 years celebrations of Narasaraopet municipality. Chiefly because, Narasaraopet festivities were presided by their people,” he alleged. He wondered as to how any official could put the projects on track if his tenure does not exceed six months.
He criticized sitting MP Galla Jayadev for trying to make false allegations against the legislators for the delay of under-ground drainage works. “Galla had no right to criticize me or for that matter any other legislator. He neither had any responsibility nor accountability on development,” he fumed.
He alleged that Galla Jayadev had expanded his industries in Chittoor while getting elected from Guntur. “He should go to Chittoor if had love for that place. How could he seek votes by continue to invest his home district?” he asked. He said that he was going to expose Galla’s misdeeds in the next one week.
He said that he had never criticized Galla as long as he was with the TDP as he was a principled man. He said that he had decided to expose Galla only after MP trying to push the blame on them.
He demanded as to why Lokesh and Dokka Manikyavaraprasad contesting assembly elections without quitting to their membership in legislative council. He said that the CM had made Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and Ramasubbareddy to quit council before allowing them to contest assembly polls and avoided seeking resignations from Lokesh and Dokka. He said that his father and many of his family members went to jail during the freedom movement and also emergency. He dared Galla to come for a debate on any issue related to the development of the constituency.
Modugula promised to fight for the SCS to AP once get elected as MP. He said that he would also bring metro train project to Guntur.
