Sting operation catches Wardha BJP MP offguard, notice issued
WARDHA: Following a sting operation on Wardha BJP MP Ramdas Tadas by a private TV channel, the district collector on Wednesday issued a showcause notice to him. Tadas has been asked to explain claims that he spent over Rs 10 crore in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and intends to splurge Rs 25 crore in 2019 elections.
The BJP MP also allegedly told the channel that he had paid Rs 4 crore each to dummy candidates to contest the elections.

Tadas is alleged to have told the channel that he had received Rs 5 crore from the party for the polls “which are contested on the basis of money”. He also said that demonetization didn’t affected flow of black money in the country. Later, when questioned by the channel, Tadas said the voice on tape is not his. Taking cognisance of telecast of the sting operation, the returning officer of Wardha issued a notice to Tadas. The officer also attached a compact disc of the sting operation with the letter to the BJP MP.
