Hyderabad: Man arrested for stealing taps

According to Cyberabad police, the accused, who has been identified as Dasari Nandu alias Karni, 31, is a labourer.

Hyderabad: In a peculiar incident that took place in Shamshabad, a man from Andhra Pradesh was caught for stealing taps from houses and also from the farmhouse of a former Congress MP. Apparently, the accused sold the taps to make money to buy alcohol.

According to Cyberabad police, the accused, who has been identified as Dasari Nandu alias Karni, 31, is a labourer. He hails from Madire village which is located in the Adoni mandal of Kurnool district and is currently residing at Ambedkarnagar in Shamshabad.

Previously, while he resided in Shamshabad, the accused was involved in the theft of valuables from locked houses and was arrested by the RGI Airport police for the same in 2012 and 2013. After being released from prison, he moved back to his native Adoni and lived over there for four years.

Late in 2018, he came back to Shamshabad and once again resorted to theft, except this time, he was stealing taps of various kinds.

The police said that in January, the accused stole taps worth Rs 20,000 from the former MP Mr Mallu Ravi’s farmhouse, which is located in Thondupally village.
