Water on alternate days for Secunderabad Cantonment

SECUNDERABAD: In what could cheer lakhs of residents of Secunderabad Cantonment this blazing summer, households will get water on alternate days like their neighbours in Greater Hyderabad limits. Senior officials said the residents could get alternate day water supply by end of May.
A decision in this regard was taken at a joint meeting of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) and Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) officials here on Friday.A committee, which will be constituted to identify problems that could arise in ensuring alternate day water, will submit a report to the Water Board soon.
A senior SCB official told TOI that infrastructure works would be take up jointly by HMWS&SB and SCB. "If everything goes well, the residents will get alternate day water by May-end," he said.
Water Board MD M Dana Kishore said 50 lakh gallons of water per day is already being supplied to Cantonment .
