Bijnor: Couldn't settle for any less, says UPSC topper Junaid
The 27-year-old achieved this feat in his fifth attempt, though he got 352nd rank last year and was training for the post of I-T joint commissioner.
BIJNOR: Junaid Ahmad has finally achieved his target. A resident of Nagina town in Bijnor, Ahmad came third in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination whose results were declared on Friday.
The 27-year-old achieved this feat in his fifth attempt, though he got 352nd rank last year and was training for the post of joint commissioner, income tax, in Hyderabad.
"I could not settle for anything less.
I belong to a middle class family. It was a dream to become an IAS officer and so I persisted with my effort. My parents also wanted me to become an IAS officer. I couldn't rest even after getting 352nd rank last year as that was not my dream. It got realized this time," said Ahmad.
"It was a collective dream and an achievement of the entire household," said Ahmad's mother Ayesha Razaa, an advocate by profession. Ever since the news broke, visitors have been pouring into the house of Javed Hussain, his father who is also a lawyer. "He has always been highly focused. It's the happiest day of my life."
Ahmad had completed his primary education from St. Mary School in Nagina. Later on, he passed intermediate from Aligarh University and completed graduation from Ghaziabad-based Sharda varsity with B Tech in electronic.
Ahmad had a word of advice for youngsters. "I have attempted UPSC exam five times. I had first appeared in 2014, and faced a lot of disappointment. The youths lack confidence and get nervous before taking the exam. First, they should set their goal in life and focus on their target. We should dream big and work harder to transform the dream into a reality."
"Uttar Pradesh is my home state and Nagina is my native place. There is need for a lot of development, and I can contribute more only after entering IAS," Ahmad added.
