BIHARSHARIF: Two women were brutally murdered by their kin while a man was shot dead in Nalanda district during the last 24 hours.
Two persons identified as Nandlesh Yadav and Kamlesh Yadav of Keshora village under Chandi police station area allegedly shot dead a co-villager Musafir Yadav on Sunday. According to village sources, the deceased had a dispute with the accused over a plot of ‘gair majarua’ land, which was recently settled through arbitration.
Police sources said that after shooting Musafir, both the accused fled the village.

Meanwhile, an inebriated man identified as Faiyaz, a resident of Dargah locality under Hilsa police station area, killed his elderly mother by smashing her head with a brick on Saturday over a trifle issue. A police officer said he was caught and thrashed by the locals. He was later arrested and admitted to Hilsa sub-divisional hospital.
On Saturday late night, a man hacked his younger brother’s wife to death after a verbal spat at Mayapur village under Katrisarai police station. According to Dasrath Manjhi, husband of the deceased woman Anita Devi, his elder brother was quarreling with him over shifting of the fodder cutter. “After hearing a commotion, my wife came out to settle the issue when my brother attacked her with a bamboo pole and continued to hit her till she died,” Dasrath said.
Katrisarai SHO Amresh Kumar said police are conducting raids to arrest him.
Woman commits suicide: A mother of two kids, who was suffering from depression, committed suicide by setting herself on fire on Sunday. The deceased, Priti Kumari , daughter of one Dinesh Kumar, resident of Dak Bungalow Road in Biharsharif under Biharsharif Town PS area was living with her father for the last several months. On Sunday, when family members were away from home she locked her children in one room and committed suicide in the adjacent room. A police officer said the case will be probed from various angles.
