Police observer takes stock of Murshidabad
Behrampore: Vivek Dubey, special police observer for Bengal and Jharkhand, visited Murshidabad on Monday along with Subrata Pal, the deputy additional chief electoral officer. Trinamool district general secretary Md Ali lodged a complaint with Dubey against Congress’ Adhir Chowdhury, accusing him of winning elections through muscle power and voter intimidation.
Murshidabad Congress leader Riju Ghosal appealed to Dubey that OCs of all 26 district police stations be transferred. “We will take all measures to ensure that people can cast their votes without fear in Murshidabad,” Dubey said.
