Tagore Literary club of Institute of Educational Technology & Vocational Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a special literary event to commemorate the centenary year of “Jallianwala Bagh massacre”, here on Wednesday.

CHANDIGARH: Tagore Literary club of Institute of Educational Technology & Vocational Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a special literary event to commemorate the centenary year of “Jallianwala Bagh massacre”, here on Wednesday.
The keynote address was given by Dr B S Rattan and he described the impact of this massacre on the Punjabi literature.
He also rendered his self-composed poetry filled with national pride. The other eminent poets also recited their poetry filled with patriotism, saluting the undying spirit of Indian solider and scarifies of the people.
The entire atmosphere changed with the power of poetry in its full splendour and variety. The chairperson of department, Dr Kanwalpreet Kaur, thanked the guests for their presence. The event coordinator Dr Amritpal Kaur organized the event to commemorate the centenary year of the massacre in poetic style and remembering sacrifices made by freedom fighters to achieve independence.
The theme of the event was “Jallianwala Bagh Kavitava vich”. Dr B S Rattan (IRS Retd) Patiala, keynote speaker, Dr Nirmal Jaura, director, Youth Welfare, PU, and many other eminent poets Sukhdev Singh “Aashi”, Bikker Singh “Manak”, Pal Singh “ Pal”, Pardeep Sharma “Dippi” and Gurkirpal “Pali” were present on the occasion.
