Mathura: 5-year-old trapped in 100-feet borewell rescued successfully after 8-hour operation

As soon as the news of the incident was received, local authorities rushed to the spot to rescue the child.

A 5-year-old boy, who was trapped in a 100-foot deep borewell rescued successfully in the wee hours of Sunday. The incident took place at Agaryala Village in Chhata Tehsil in Mathura district on Saturday afternoon. The boy was attempting to pluck fruits from a tree near the borewell.

"It took us 2 hours to rescue the child, army also helped us in the rescue operations," news agency ANI quoted Anil Kumar Singh, Assistant Commander NDRF, as saying.

As soon as the news of the incident was received, local authorities rushed to the spot to rescue the child.

While a team of doctors provided oxygen supply to the distressed child struck in the borewell, a team of NDRF from Ghaziabad was dispatched to the accident spot, reported the news agency.

“The child is perfectly fine, he is not facing any problems but as a precaution we have given him some necessary medicines. He will stay admitted for the night and will be released tomorrow,” said Sher Singh, CMO Mathura.
