Bihar: Abducted for ransom amount of Rs 50 lakh, JD(U) leader's 14-year-old son found murdered in Siwan

The police was informed about the incident by Rajeev Ranjan, who was a cousin of the deceased.

JD(U) leader's son found murdered in Bihar

The body of a 14-year-old student and son of late Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Surendra Patel was found in Bihar's Siwan district on Thursday. Identified as Rahul Kumar, the deceased was abducted late on Wednesday for a ransom amount of Rs 50 lakh.

According to Siwan Superintendent of Police Navin Chandra Jha, Kumar's body was recovered from Mufassil area and three accused have already been arrested in the case. 

"Abductors killed him fearing arrest after a search and rescue operation was launched," he said.

The police was informed about the incident by Rajeev Ranjan, who was a cousin of the deceased. Ranjan told police that he had received a call from the abductors who demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

Kumar was a student of class 7 and studied in Kendriya Vidayalya.
