FOOD LAB WITH BEN MILBOURNE
***
5pm, SBS Food

The SBS Food channel is a rich source of hidden gems and this is one of them. Apart from the fun of seeing another of the infinitely varied ways Masterchef contestants can parlay their time on telly into a career, Ben and his mates (tonight, his little brother Grant) reliably provide fascinating information on the universe of food and drink. Tonight it’s the wonderful world of Tasmanian whisky, and a deep dive into the history and processes of Tassie’s award-winning Lark distillery.

ANH’S BRUSH WITH FAME: LINDY CHAMBERLAIN
***1/2
8pm, ABC

Before Fake News and before social media it was still perfectly possible to crucify a public figure on the basis of not very much. The tale of Lindy Chamberlain has passed into Australian folklore but as this typically sensitive interview by Anh Do reminds us, Chamberlain-Creighton (as she is now) was a human being who underwent an ordeal that would have broken most of us. A timely reminder to try a keep a lid on our insta-rage.

THE GOOD FIGHT
***1/2
8.30pm, SBS

Is that a motorcycle I hear revving? Is The Good Fight preparing to jump the shark? Or is it merely reflecting and responding to the insanity of the third year of a Trump presidency. Certainly things have gone a little loopy, what with the musical interludes, Diane’s micro-dosing, and her decision tonight to get a little more active in her opposition to the 45th President. Then there’s the magnificent Michael Sheen truly bringing the crazy and maybe dragging Maia (Rose Leslie) off the cliff after him.
