Aurangabad seat sees Raja Singh-Asad joust
Hyderabad: With AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi campaigning in Aurangabad where the party has fielded Imtiaz Jaleel, Shiv Sena roped in lone BJP MLA in Telangana T Raja Singh to counter Owaisi.
Launching a vitriolic attack, Singh blamed people from other community for instigating communal riots in Aurangabad. “A year ago there was a communal riot in Aurangabad. Who were the persons who started these riots in the first place,” Singh said, while addressing a massive rally on Monday.

“Who was the person who stood by you,” he shouted at the crowd, referring to Chandrakant Khaire of Shiv Sena, who is eyeing a fifth term from the parliamentary constituency. Singh urged people to elect Khaire to safeguard them and their religion. He also talked about ‘love jihad.’
Meanwhile, Owaisi addressed a series of public meetings during when he lashed out at BJP and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, party’s Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal, accusing them of insulting martyrs. He also took a jibe at BJP’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against terrorism.
He took pot-shots at PM Modi over deaths of scavengers. “Manual scavenging is a inter-generational mass violence inflicted on a group solely because of caste. That we have a PM who believes this cruel system is a spiritual experience did not help anybody. Since 2017, this system has bene claiming one life every five days,” tweeted Owaisi tagging a TOI report.
