In Sultanpur, RaGa mum on Maneka
Amethi/Sultanpur: While the Prime Minister and BJP continued to be at the centre of his attack at public meetings across the Nehru-Gandhi bastion, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday refrained from uttering a word against his aunt Maneka Gandhi.
Campaigning for Sanjay Sinh, the party’s candidate from Sultanpur, Rahul focused on listing failures of the Narendra Modi government instead of speaking against Maneka who has been in the news for her barbs this election season.
Rahul also did not refer to cousin Varun, the sitting BJP MLA, whose paeans for Modi have made headlines.
The Congress president, however, told the people of Amethi that every development project he proposed for the area was stalled by BJP and the PM. “Chowkidar ne sabse badi chori Amethi ke logon se ki hai (Chowkidar has robbed the people of Amethi the most),” he said at a meet in Tiloi.
In Parshadepur, Rahul reminded farmers that PM had no money to waive their loans, but he had all resources when it came to helping his “friends”.
In Bhadar, Rahul asked the people if they had received Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts “as promised by Modi”.
