St. Joseph Summer Movies To Move Around To Several Parks

The summer tradition in St. Joseph of the city showing “Movies in the Park” at Whirlpool Centennial Park is getting a bit of a shake-up this summer. Greg Grothous is the city’s deputy director of parks and grounds and told the city commission this week about the idea to move the screenings around.

“In 2019, staff would like to move the movies around to a few select parks around the city to allow our residents to enjoy our parks,” he said. Grothous says the city will be mailing information the screenings to everyone who lives within 300 feet of the parks where the movies will be shown.

The movies will be shown every Saturday in July and August, starting July 6 at 9:15 pm at Whirlpool Centennial Park with “Hotel Transylvania.” Another big change is rain won’t cancel the movies, and instead they’ll be moved to the Howard Ice Arena. As always, bring your own chairs or blankets.

Here is the list of movies, dates, and locations for this summer:

July 6 – Hotel Transylvania – Whirlpool Centennial Park (9:15 pm)
