Yes, vegetarianism is on the rise thanks to a growing awareness of the environmental effects of meat production and the health repercussion of footy hot dogs. This humble effort from Canadian dietician and author Desiree Nielsen isn't likely to win any converts to the cause, however; nor is it likely to give the V-tribe any exciting new ideas about jazzing up their virtue-filled dinnertime.

However Nielsen tries to big up her vegie spiraliser, those beetroot strands are in no way a good substitute for real spaghetti. Above all, can she please tie her shiny long locks back when she cooks – all I could think about was the possibility of getting hair in the cauliflower pizza and whether it would still classify as vegetarian.
