NEW DELHI: The newly constituted Delhi Wetland Authority will meet for the first time on Thursday to discuss, among others, wetland status for an oxbow lake at Tikri Khurd near Narela in North Delhi.
On Tuesday, TOI had reported how activists have written to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, requesting immediate action to remove the existing encroachment, and to initiate actions to revive and restore the waterbody.

The constitution of the authority by LG was announced in a communique by environment secretary Madhup Vyas. The authority is made up of chief secretary, DDA vice-chairman, environment secretary, PWD secretary, Urban Development secretary, DJB CEO, Fisheries secretary, irrigation and flood control department secretary, , municipal corporation commissioners, among others.
