Northeast-IAS announces Scholarships worth of Rs 1 Cr. for IAS Coaching Guwahati: April 24, 2019 North East Institute of Advanced Studies (Northeast IAS), one of the premier institutes for civil services examination, has announced merit-Scholarship worth of Rs 1 Crore for deserving candidates of Assam and northeastern region for the year of 2019-2020.
Under the scheme, financial assistance for 100 aspirants who will be selected based on their performances in a test to be conducted in May by the Institute will receive coaching at the Guwahati and Delhi campus of the institute. The announcement was made in a press conference, held today at Guwahati. Under Mission 100 initiatives, the institute has produced total 07 numbers of successful candidates in less than 03 years.
In UPSC CSE 2017, 03 numbers and in UPSC CSE 2018, 04 numbers which includes Chahat Bajpai Rank 59, Vishal Sah Rank 63, Shivendu Bhusan Rank 120 and Sudhanshu Nayak Rank 500. ‘’This scheme has been conceptualized to provide the much-needed support to those deserving and meritorious students. This will go a long way for the talented youth of the northeastern region to compete at the national level. We did feel the need to come up with such a scholarship program which will alow more talented youth to have the opportunity to get training like this." said Sankar Ray, Director of Northeast-IAS while addressing a press conference.
He further underlined the importance of quality guidance and mentoring as the only tool to transform the youth of Assam. He stated that the institute will provide intensive training and mentoring includes more than 900 hours of classroom coaching by nationaly acclaimed faculty from Delhi and IAS toppers.
Apart from classroom coaching, the hand-holding support to students, library facilities, researched study material and regular current affairs magazine, practice sessions, personality development program and guidance based on changing patter of the examination will also be provided to aspirants.
“It is encouraging to see the growing numbers of successful candidates in UPSC from the state, but it is a sorry figure while comparing with success of other states. The youth of Assam are equally capable to compete the top most examination and get top ranks in UPSC Civil Services Examination, provided they are guided in a result oriented and efficient manner. I have observed our candidates face difficulties while going to Delhi for this kind of preparation. In many ways, coping with the environment, managing self-finances, high coaching fee, become major challenges. In this backdrop, we started Mission 100 initiative to support the candidates for transforming Assam & North East for introducing leadership development among our youth. “, Ray added.
Meenakshi Saikia, The Chief Programme Coordinator urged all eligible youth of Assam and North East who have completed their Graduation/Degree undergraduates to enroll for this Scholarship.
The scholarship test will be held on April 27 and May 03, 04 2019. The interested candidates are requested to contact the Guwahati office.
