Uddhav Thackeray: Opposition has accepted defeat before poll results

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said that the opposition parties have accepted defeat even before the completion of Lok Sabha elections when they said they had apprehensions about electoral voting machines (EVMs).
Thackeray was speaking at a public meeting on Thursday at Kalewadi phata in support of Shiv Sena Maval MP Shrirang Barne who is contesting from Maval as BJP-Shiv Sena alliance candidate.

Thackeray said opposition leaders Chandrababu Naidu, Sharad Pawar and others who held a press conference in Mumbai about EVMs, are looking for excuses to explain their defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
Lashing out at the Congress-NCP alliance, he said, “The rule of dacoits in the country for 60 years ended after the Hindutvawadi government came to power at the Centre.”
“Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Pawar are allies. Rahul is dreaming of becoming Prime Minister of a country by insulting freedom fighters,” he said.
He also criticised TMC leader and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for getting Bangladeshi actor Firdaus Ahmed to campaign for her party.
“The opposition parties do not want Modi and Hindutva, so they have come together. But when they are asked about their PM candidate they are unable to name one,” he said. He accused NCP leader Sharad Pawar of toppling governments.

Referring to the speculation that a large numbers of NCP leaders and workers have come from Baramati to campaign for NCP’s Maval candidate Parth Pawar, Thackeray said the Baramati factor was over as their loss in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections had proved.
On the Sena’s alliance with the BJP, he said, “We are together in the nation’s interest.”
