UP: Three post-graduate students of private university killed in road accident in Firozabad district

Three post-graduate students of a private university, including two siblings, were killed in a road accident in UP's Firozabad district, after their hatchback rammed into an electric pole.

The accident occurred at around 1pm on Monday near Banvara village on Etah-Shikohabad state highway under Jasrana police jurisdiction.
AGRA: Three post-graduate students of a private university, including two siblings, were killed in a road accident in UP's Firozabad district, after their hatchback rammed into an electric pole.
The accident occurred at around 1pm on Monday near Banvara village on Etah-Shikohabad state highway under Jasrana police jurisdiction.
The victims were identified as Pooja Verma, Rajesh Verma and their batchmate Shailendra, who were killed on spot, while the fourth person, Shalini Chauhan, was rushed to Firozabad Government Hospital.
All the victims were in early 20s.
According to police, the impact of the accident was so severe that hatchback got mangled into two pieces and after a lot of struggle and effort, the victim’s bodies were extracted.
Girish Chand Gautam, station house officer of Jasrana, said, “The exact cause of the accident is yet to be established. The sole survivor, Shalini Chauhan, is unconscious and is undergoing treatment. We have established their identity from the university identity card. The police are now contacting university to alert victim’s parents about the tragic accident.”
All the four victims were students of private university based in Shikohabad and were pursuing MSc.
The three bodies were sent for post-mortem and the mangled hatchback has been removed from the accident spot by police.
