AGRA: Five days after he went missing, a five-year-old Dalit boy was found murdered close to his house in Kasganj’s Ganjdundwara area on Monday morning. Based on his family member’s complaint, a case has been registered against four persons-- 50-year-old Akram, Mobin, Shamshul and another person. Police have detained Mobin for questioning while the rest are absconding.
Sonu, who lived in Chiraula village, went missing on Wednesday.
His decomposed body was recovered near a graveyard by locals on Monday morning. His body was later sent for post mortem examination.
The victim’s father, Sunil Kumar, who works at a brick kiln, had filed a complaint against the four neighbours. An FIR under IPC section 302 (murder) and under SC/ST Act was later registered by police.
Speaking to TOI, circle officer of Patiyali, Gavendra Pal Gautam, who is investigating the case, said, “The boy had been missing since Wednesday evening. He was last seen with Akram, who is the neighbour of the victim. When victim’s parents confronted Akram and his relatives, they assured to return with the missing boy and requested not to complain about it to police. But, four days passed and the child did not return. It was then that his father came to police.”
“We have detained Mobin. Prima facie, it seems to be a case of old enmity. We are now waiting for autopsy report. Once the cause of death is confirmed, we will again question the detained man. Meanwhile, the other accused who are absconding at the moment are being tracked by police team,” added officer Gautam.
