With 498 marks, Aishwarya of KV Rai Bareilly tops the state, second in countrywide merit

Aishwarya, a student of KV number 1, Rai Bareilly has topped the state and Allahabad region in class 12th board of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with 498 marks out of 500.

ALLAHABAD: Aishwarya, a student of KV number 1, Rai Bareilly has topped the state and Allahabad region in class 12th board of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with 498 marks out of 500. She also shares the second position with two other girls-Gaurangi Chawla and Bhavya-in the all India merit list, missing the top position with just One marks.
Besides, Ayushi Upadhyay of Lucknow Public school (South City) came second in the state with 497 marks while Palak Mishra of the Aryan International School Varanasi was the third position holder with 496 marks.

This year Five girls have shared the top two positions in the overall merit, two at first and three at the second place.
Four students including Ojasvi Kalp of Faizabad, Himanshu Gaurav Singh of Gorakhpur, Vinay Kumar Srivastava of Sonbhadra and Priyankush Adhikary of Varanasi shared the 4th position with 495 marks.
At 493 marks, Four student including Amit Kumar Yadav, Sakshi Manchanda, Priyal Advani and Navya Shukla shared Vth position.
Talking to media, regional officer (RO) of Allahabad, Sweta Arora said, "Total number of schools, students of which appeared in class 12th board under Allahabad region, this year were 1291 while total number of centres was 386 among which 164655 students appeared in this year's exam out of a total of 168394 registered students".

She added that the pass percentage of 2019 was 75.36% while that of the last year was 75.19%. "Pass percentage among girls was again more than the boys as 82.1 5% of girls cleared class 12 board while 71.44% boys came out with flying colours", she said.
Talking of pass percentage in terms of schools, the RO said, "Kendriya Vidyalaya topped the list among schools with 98.8 1% while the passing percentage at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was 96.8 0%, independent 73.7 3% and that of government schools (including Abhinav Vidyalaya, Rajkiya Vidyalaya, Jai Prakash Narayan and North East Railway schools), the pass percentage was 46.7 6%.
Talking on pass percentage of the four major districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Gorakhpur, the RO said, "Of the 116 schools of Lucknow, the overall pass percentage was 85.31% (90.46% girls and 81.70% boys) while that of Kanpur, the overall pass percentage was 85.29% (89.23% girls and 82.79% boys)'.
Besides, the overall pass percentage at Varanasi was 71.96% (78.50% girls and 68.12% boys) and that of Gorakhpur, it was as 69.54% (75.97% girls and 66.04% boys).
