Defending Vodafone Fiji FACT champions Rewa played without coach Pita Rabo during their 3-0 win over Nasinu at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

The Fiji Football Association last night confirmed that Rabo was not allowed to be on the sideline because he’s suspended from all level of football by the Suva Football Association.

Speaking to SUNsports, Rabo said it was difficult to coach the team from the grandstand.

“It’s difficult as a coach to yell from up here,” the Kuku, Tailevu native said.

“What I can do with the boys before the game or at halftime is to try and get a lot of information and pass it on them. I know I can’t be at the ground with them but the players did well today.”

What happened: Stylish midfielder Tevita Warainaivalu controlled the game for the Delta Tigers and scored the opening goal in the 19th minute before slotting in the second goal in the 36th minute.

Just before halftime, Mohammed Ramzan slammed in the third goal as they led 3-0 at halftime.

In the second half Nasinu dominated possession and Rewa opted to play a defensive game throughout.

Nasinu played only with 10-men after Mohammed Naizal copped a red card.

Comments: Rewa coach Rabo said: “It’s quite a good feeling for me to come and be part of the team for one and a half months now.

“I knew that today will be a hard game and knowing how well Nasinu have prepared, but we just focused on what we can do.

“The players worked so hard to give us three points. Nasinu tried hard in the second half but we played controlled football right to the final whistle.’

Nasinu coach Shivam Nathan said: “We played a more composed game in the second half.

“In the first half we made a lot of mistakes and gave away three goals which cost us the game. If we had been more careful and not make those mistakes we could have gone out with a draw.

“We were rather unfortunate to get a red card since our player retaliated.”
