Senior police officials, caught off the guard, claimed that a thorough interrogation was on to gather more evidence and trace the minor girls who were victims of Chand’s exploitation.

“Police took cognizance of the matter as soon as information was received. It is a very sensitive matter and police are dealing with it,” said Nitin Tiwari, Meerut SSP.
Meerut division’s ADG Prashant Kumar said, “The main accused has been arrested. We will ensure justice to all the minor girls.” Sources privy to the investigation claimed that three minor girls who were victims of Chand’s exploitation have been traced.
“It looks like most of these girls were brought through a pimp or some racket. They were forcing minor children into prostitution. Things will be clear only when we get to the bottom of the case,” a source in police said.
“We will produce the accused in court and seek his police remand to further interrogate him,” SSP Tiwari said.
