PATNA: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad may not be contesting election this time, but his namesake is in fray from Saran Lok Sabha constituency. Meet 39-year-old Lalu Prasad Yadav from Jado Rahimpur village, who is fighting the election as an independent from Saran, a pocket borough of the RJD chief.
“It is just a matter of coincidence that my parents named me Lalu. Becoming a politician was my childhood dream.
It is wrong to say that I have thrown my hat into the ring after getting inspiration from the RJD chief,” the Lok Sabha aspirant, who had fought the 2014 general elections too and managed to get 9,997 votes, said.
“When I was a student, I had the qualities of a politician and I wanted to serve the society. I entered active politics in 2001 when I contested nagar parishad election,” the younger Lalu said.
Youngest among three siblings, Intermediate-pass Lalu had earlier worked as an LIC agent. “I can measure land and have done a course in this regard. I can type and do welding work as well,” he said. Father of seven kids – five sons and two daughters – Lalu believes in imparting education to children.
