CBSE class 10th result 2019 HIGHLIGHTS: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the class 10 board examination results today at its official website, cbse.nic.in. Last year the results were declared on May 29, 2019. This year the results have been shifted early based on Delhi High Court’s order. The exams also began early this year and the CBSE class 12 result was declared in a record time of 28 days.

There has been a rise in the pass percentage of 4.40 per cent from last year as the pass percentage reaches 91.1 per cent. This breaks the downwards spell in the pass percentage since 2014, however, the pass percentage is still lower than the pass percentage of CBSE class 10 result 2017 – which was 93.06 per cent.

Trivandrum region, yet again remains top performer. It had outperformed itself. Last year it had a pass percentage of 99.60 per cent and this year it showed the pass percentage of 99.85 per cent. In CBSE class 12 board results too the region was the top performer.

Around 18 lakh students are awaiting class 10 results. Last year, over 16 lakh had given their class 10 exams. To clear the exam, candidates need to score at least 33 per cent based in theory as well as practical and aggregate score. In 2018, the pass percentage of students was 88.67 per cent. Girls had outperformed than boys as 86.07 per cent girls passed the exams against 85,32 per cent boys.
Divjot Kaur Jaggi from Convent of Jesus & Mary, Ambala Cantt is already preparing for medical entrance exams, though her dream is to be an IAS officer. She attributed her marks to regular studies and focus. Her father Savinder Singh Jaggi, a property adviser, said she has always studied hard. Divjot also enjoys playing badminton and basketball, and plays the harmonium and casio.
Drishti Gupta, a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya in Sector 15, Panchkula, topped the Tricity with 99.6 per cent in the Class X CBSE examinations. She stands second in the country.
Taru Jain from St Angela Sophia Senior Sec School, Jaipur secured 499 out of 500. “I used to study for three-four hours every day… I paid equal attention to every subject. Not even in my wildest dreams did I expect such a result,” the 15-year-old said. While her father is a bank manager, her mother is a housewife. She likes playing badminton and is also interested in art.
Shivani Lath from Mayoor School, Noida scored 100 in all subjects except Hindi. “I took tuition for maths and science… I didn’t neglect any of my hobbies or my social life while preparing for the boards,” said Lath, adding that she was surprised by her marks. She wants to take commerce with maths in class XII and go on to study chartered accountancy, before hopefully becoming an IAS officer. She is also interested in painting.
Ish Madan from Chaudhary Chhabil Dass Public School, Ghaziabad scored 100 in English, Hindi, maths and social science, losing one mark in science. “I was expecting to do well, but not so well. Even my parents were surprised. I now plan to take PCM (physics, chemistry and maths) and physical education in Class XII, and ultimately do engineering from one of the IITs,” he said. His hobbies include playing and watching cricket, something he did even during his preparation for the board exams.

From Shiv Nadar school in Gurgaon, Kabir Singh has secured 99% marks, Shreya Gupta scored 98% and Gariman Sharma scored 96.8% in the board exams. And Arul Kumar scored 97.4%, Yashica Lakhanpal scored 97.2%, Poorvi Kumar and Saawini Mittal secured 96.8% marks each, from Shiv Nadar school in Noida.
Bhavana N Sivadas from Kerala, who emerged as the topper in the CBSE class X from the Trivandrum zone with 499 out of 500 marks, said although she had expected good results, an achievement of this magnitude was unexpected.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, teachers, friends and those who have supported me. I had taken tuitions for Mathematics and Sanskrit. I studied rest of the subjects by myself. Simultaneoulsy, I also indulged myself in activities that I like such as music. I did not restrict myself from doing things that I like such as watching movies and reading books during this time," she said.
Bhavana said she aspires to become an engineer and is planning to pursue computer science. She is among the 13 students who topped the CBSE class X results with 499 out of 500 marks. Out of these, seven are from the Dehradun zone. Read in Malayalam
Siddhant says he lost 1 mark in English, where he scored 99 out 100. He said he did self study and did not take any private tuition. Though most of the people of his age are active on social media, the boy is nowhere on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media platform.
"I'm very social without social media," says Siddhant.

2,25,143 candidates who scored more than 90% and a total of 57256 candidates scored 95% and above, this year.

While the girls outperform boys by 2.31 per cent as 92.45 girls passed the exams against 90.14 per cent students. The transgender students showed the highest pass percentage of 94.74 per cent - which is not only better than both girls and boys but also better than their own result of 83.33 per cent last year.

Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) show the best performance in terms of institutes. As many as 99 per cent students from KVs pass the exam. The second best was Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) with 98.57 per cent students clearing the CBSE class 10 board exam. Among districts, Trivandrum scored highest 99.85 per cent followed by Chennai at 99 per cent. Ajmer is at number three with 95.89 per cent while Panchkula is at 93.72. Here are pass percentage of other districts:

In 2019, the exam was conducted over 4974 centres and last year 4460 exam centres were involved.
Trivandrum region tops yet again with 99.85 pass percentage. Last year too the region was the top performer in class 10 results. This year, it has outperformed itself by .25 per cent. In class 12 Board exam results 2019 as well the region has the best results.
Those who are not happy with their score can apply for re-evaluation from the same website, cbse.nic.in. The online application for verification of marks will begin from May 4, 2019 to May 8, at 5 pm at a cost of Rs 500 per subject. CBSE will provide Class X digital academic documents (Marksheets, Migration Certificate & Pass Certificate) through its own academic repository ‘Parinam Manjusha’ which is integrated with DigiLocker at https://digilocker.gov.in. The move began in 2016

In 2018, Trivandrum region performed the best with 99.60 pass percentage. In 2019 class 12 result which was declared last week as well, the region stood first. A similar feat is expected out of the region today as well.

The CBSE has declared the result at cbse.nic.in and other official websites and applications
The CBSE results will be available on the net with the technical support of National Informatics Centre (NIC). The students can access their marks through the following websites — results.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.nic.in. In case, these websites are inaccessible, students can view their marks at bing.com. The schools will automatically get their entire results on email id’s already registered with the CBSE.
The CBSE Class X results will also be available via Android mobile app “DigiResults”.

While the CBSE announced the class 12 result in record 28 days, the class 10 result is being announced today which again is a record time. The board claims to have used technology, trained over 1 lakh data entry operators and involved 1.75 lakh teachers in exam centres that remained open till 10 pm to declare the result early. The CBSE has also begun post-result helpline counselling services. Those who have any queries can get in touch with the trained staff at 1800 11 8004. The service will be available from 8 am to 10 pm only till May 16, 2019.
Different-abled category performed better than the overall result. While the overall pass percentage was 86.07%, students from the category showed a pass percentage of 92.55% out of 3760 students who appeared for the exam, a total of 3480 cleared the same.
Government schools were worst performers in 2018 with only 63.97 per cent students from them passing the class 10 board exam. Government-aided schools showed second-worst performance at 73.46% pass percentage.
In 2018, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya (JNV) were best performing institutes with 97.31% pass percentage followed by Kendriya Vidyalays (KVs) with 95.96%.
The pass percentage in class 10 has been on the decline ever since 2014. Will this year be able to break the downward trajectory?

Over 18 lakh students will be appearing for the exam this year. Last year, over 16 lakh appeared for the exam.
Students need to score at least 33 marks (or 33 % of total marks) in each subject. Candidate need not pass in theory and practical exam separately and an aggregate score would also do.
CBSE will declare class 10 results on cbseresults.nic.in, cbse.nic.in and results.nic.in. Google and Microsoft will also host results at google.com and bing.com respectively. Students can also view their Class 10 results on UMANG mobile application which is available for Android, iOS and Windows-based smartphone. Also, the result will also be available at Windows app.
The CBSE class 10 exams were conducted from February 21 to March 29, 2019 and the result is being declared today which is within a month of declaration of result. The board had earlier said that this year the results will be declared in record time.
