NEW DELHI: After getting attacked by a snatcher on a bike who fled with her phone, a private school teacher did not let him have an easy run. Anshu Sharma (32) quickly regained herself and not only managed to get her phone back but also helped in putting him behind bars.
Police said that the incident happened on Monday afternoon when Sharma was waiting for her bus to return home.
She told cops that while waiting, a man on a white motorcycle came and tried to snatch her mobile phone from her hand. During this, he pushed the woman on the ground and drove away.
She got up and quickly stopped an autorickshaw to follow the snatcher. During this, she noted down the registration number of the bike and kept on following him as he drove around Rohini.
Sharma then followed him to Rohini’s Japanese Park and with the help of the autorickshaw driver, confronted the snatcher, later identified as Ramjani (21). Seeing the commotion, passersby joined in and thrashed the 21-year-old before handing him over to the cops. A case of robbery has been registered against him at Begumpur police station. Cops are probing previous criminal record of the youth.
