DFRC fines three Ghaziabad schools for non-compliance

The District Fee Regulatory Committee(DFRC) has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on three private schools for non-compliance of committee’s order.

GHAZIABAD: The District Fee Regulatory Committee(DFRC) has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on three private schools for non-compliance of committee’s order. The schools that have imposed fine are DPS Vasundhara , Cambridge School, Indirapuram and GD Goenka School, Rajnagar.
“The DPS, Vasundhara failed to turn up DFRC meetings despite being asked to on at least five occasions through letters and neither did the school made available the documents to the committee” said Ritu Maheshwari, district magistrate and chairperson of DFRC.
“Under section 10 (a) of Uttar Pradesh Self Finance Independent School Fee Regulation Act the committee imposed a fie of Rs 1 lakh on the school who have now been asked to submit documents by Wednesday failing which stringent action will be taken against the school ” added Maheshwari.
Cambridge School, Indirapuram and GD Goenka School, Rajnagar in DFRC’s 3 May order were asked to refund excess fee in one week. “These schools did not comply with the DFRC’s order hence a fine of Rs 1 lakh each have been imposed on them” said Maheshwari. Earlier Sapphire International School, Crossing Republik have already been fined by DFRC.
The DFRC meanwhile has asked DLF School Sahibabad, Modern School Vaishali, GD Goenka School Indirapuram and Deep Memorial School Ramprashth to submit documents by Wednesday while Chaya Public School Vaishali will have to submit documents by Thursday
The committee had in its earlier order has asked two schools to refund excess fee. St Teresa School was found to have charged between Rs 3131 to Rs 16710 as excess fee Similarly, Presidium School, Indirapuram in the academic year 2018-19 had taken excess fee from each students from class nursery to class 12 between Rs 17257 to Rs 40809. “These schools has also been ordered not to hike fee for the academic year 2019-20” said Maheshwari.
In addition to this five schools Sapphire International School, Crossing Republik which has already been imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh in committee’s earlier hearing, Chaya Public School Vaishali, Uttam Girls Public School Shastrinagar, DPS Vasundhara and Modern School Vaishali have been asked to submit documents by Thursday.
