West Bengal: BJP worker found dead in Jhargram

BJP workers have alleged that the TMC is responsible for the killing.

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker, Raman Singh, was found dead on Saturday night in Jhargram's Gopiballabpur, in West Bengal.

BJP workers have alleged that the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is responsible for the killing.

In another incident, two BJP workers, Ananta Guchait and Ranjit Maity, were shot at last night in Bhagabanpur, East Medinipur. Both the injured were admitted to a hospital. 

Shockingly, the incidents are reported a day before the sixth phase of polling, on Sunday.

Polling is underway for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha election 2019, on Sunday. In all, 59 constituencies, spread over six states and one union territory, will go to the polls in this phase. 

Over 10 crore 17 lakh voters including around four crore 75 lakh women will decide the fate of 979 candidates in fray for 59 seats.

The general election is currently being held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May and on the same day the results will be declared.

Legislative Assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim are being held simultaneously with the general election.
